Question 1 Question 2 Question 3    Question 4- This entire process has been defined by our use of the technology and adapting our vision to what we could reasonably do with the technology. The start of our process was working with the different technologies we would have to use. Going into the project we did not know if we wanted to do a movie or a magazine. Working with PremierPro and then InDesign we were able to gauge how easily we could create either a movie or a magazine. Neither Sam nor I had any real experience with video editing so we decided against the movie. It is not that we did not want to handle the challenge, it is that we did not want to put more time into learning the program than actually making our project. We did have more experience with photo editing and creating visual projects such as brochures. We would be able to start working from the very beginning by creating a magazine.  This is the final version of my magazine for evaluation. I would have hoped to have done more work on it, conducted interviews, and presented more research than I did. This was just not possible due to time constrains. This should be viewed as a representative sample of the concept.

 The biggest thing I changed was the cover. The masthead and fonts were okay, but I changed the color scheme and replaced the cover image. Instead of a solid red cover, I used a white background with a red border. This has a more subtle look and is not as over powering as the solid red. I removed the wetland from the cover image and just included the desert image, which is more emblematic of the cover article topic. On the content page I added some more article titles and a timeline. For the article pages I added the red border to keep with the overall style and enhance the magazine.

 After our audience feedback, I had a very clear idea as to I needed to change. Overall the product was all right and fit the genre of the magazine. I was going to keep the actual article content the same, as that portion was all right. I just needed to change a few design features. The most major change would be for the cover. Secondly I would add some additional content to the content page and then match my page designs.

  On Monday Sam and I presented our draft to the class. We were aware that we would get plenty of feedback, and we were looking forward to it. Overall people wanted our magazine to have more design elements. The class wanted to see some kind of image or graphic on the content page along with more content. Some suggested using a timeline somewhere in the article. One class member suggested increasing the opacity of the content page blocks. A general theme of eye appeal was expressed. I was also suggested to use the desert photo for the cover image. Much of this feedback aligned with the goals I had going forward anyway. I wanted higher resolution photos, to add more content to the content page, and add other design elements. The feedback was useful in giving us ideas as to what kind of stuff we should add to the magazine. I have updated elements such as the page borders. This is my rough draft for the end of semester check. I created this version in Microsoft Word since it is quicker to work with than InDesign. I have all of the pages setup for InDesign though and I the final draft will be made with it.
